Melissa Jensen has a passion for teaching art and wants to instill that love for art in her students.   To make sure every student meets their full potential, class sizes have been capped at only four students per class session.  Classes range from K-12 grade with beginning to advanced art classes offered.  You will get peace of mind that your budding  artist has a place to grow from Elementary School to High School and beyond.  Drawing and painting are Melissa’s expertise and she knows how to teach it to others.  All art classes meet the Alaska State standards for visual art instruction.  Classes are designed to run a full year to include all the curriculum has to offer for the standards required.  If you jump into a class half-way through the year, not to worry, your student can start on the semester you would like and continue on in the next school year if desired.

Why is it important to find a teacher who is certified?  When your student takes classes from Melissa, you will know you are getting the very best in instruction.  Being certified means your instructor has taken and passed all the test required by the state to hold a certification.  There is also a re-certification that must be renewed every five years.  Continuing education classes must be taken in order to renew so you know your instructor is up on the latest teaching methods and skills.
